Air-conditioning

From the suggestion box:

the library facility is ususally very cold.the aircon is put too high and it makes it hard to study there,i ve heard quite a number of people complain about it too

Library Response:

All air conditioned buildings are affected by the outside temperature and the number of people in the building. We are not able to turn the temperature up as this causes the books to sweat and could lead to outbreaks of mould in the collection, which in turn could cause a serious health issue. May I suggest that you bring a jumper when visiting the library or move to one of the warmer areas.
