Having only one microform reader that can print is clearly inadequate. There are many researchers who still rely on these sources. JCU's History students should have good access to microfilm resources (not all of which are online). They should also be available for interested community members, including former JCU students and professional historians such as myself. One microfilm printer and a few rundown machines is not really good access.

On a regular basis we record and monitor use of the microform held in the JCU library collection.
Our historical, and current data, does not reflect that any additional equipment is required.
This resource, as well as all other library resources (licenses permitting) are made available to members of the community.
